The famous merino wool underwear

  1. MBP07257 Copie 2

Worn directly on our body, 100% merino wool underwear has the advantage of being naturally antibacterial, which limits body odor and thus the number of washes. For these natural qualities to be effective, follow these tips:

Pro tips

  • Deodorant and perfume can alter the natural properties of the merino fiber by clogging the pores of the fabric and preventing the evacuation of moisture
  • When washing and drying, close the zippers to prevent them from damaging the fabric
  • Choose a regular washing cycle rather than a short one in order to eliminate all traces of soap and opt for cold or tepid water
  • Wash in the washing machine using soap without fabric softener or bleach. We recommend the Grangers Merino Wash which notably contains cedar extract which protects against myths.
  • Dry flat or on a hanger before storing in a dry, myth-free place
  • If your underwear starts to pill, wash it with jeans (zipper and button closed). This will do the job of sandpaper and prevent the pilling effect.

For all other synthetic underwear and accessories: A simple wash with detergent-free soap (Grangers Performance) and air-dried will do the trick!

For a fluffy down jacket

The down is perfect on cold days in the mountains or for après-ski on the terrace. It is our ally throughout the winter season, but obviously obvious and perspiration accumulates. It is therefore important to clean it, but above all to dry it well before storing it.

Pro tips

  • Use soap without fabric softener or bleach, we recommend Grangers Down Wash
  • Close all zippers and loosen rubber bands
  • Wash on gentle cycle in cold or tepid water
  • Dry your duvet in the dryer with cold or tepid air, immediately after washing to allow it to regain its full volume.
  • Use dryer balls to distribute the down in your coat evenly
  • Take your duvet out of the dryer only when it is completely dry to prevent it from developing bacteria

The key to storage is in drying! We suggest waiting two days after drying your duvet to store it. If you store your down jacket on a hanger, use a wide hanger with rounded ends, this will avoid altering the down on the shoulders.

Shell, insulated coat, windbreaker and company

  1. DSC02207 LR

It is often the layer that we are most reluctant to wash for fear of losing the waterproofing agent. However, it is quite the opposite! And yes, our windbreaker gets dirty and stains, sweat and dust alter its breathable and waterproofing effectiveness.

Pro tips

  • Use a technical soap designed to restore and maintain the properties of your membrane
  • Close all zippers, loosen all rubber bands and Velcro
  • Do not wash inside out, the outside of our membrane is the most important to wash
  • Air dry your garment completely on a wide hanger
  • Wash at least once a season, but be on the lookout for surge, oil stains and dirt that could clog pores and alter the effectiveness of your coat

Has your shell lost its waterproofing (water and wet snow no longer bead on the outside)?
Once your garment has been washed, apply a waterproofing spray (Grangers Performance Repel Plus) to your still damp coat. Remove excess product and air dry or as directed by your garment.

Mittens and ski boots, daily maintenance

Mitts need to be dried after each use during the season.

  • You can use a specific dryer or simply turn the wrist section outwards which will increase air circulation and allow faster drying.
  • For outdoor stains, simply wash with cloth
  • Do not dry too close to a heat source, the interior insulation will be damaged and lose its effectiveness
  • Never machine wash to prevent the insulation from detaching from the outer part

The big neglected in the maintenance of our equipment, ski boots nevertheless need a little care before being stored.

  • Store your boots by attaching the clips so the boot keeps its shape
  • Completely remove the liner from the shell, this will prevent any moisture from settling

SONIA'S 3 TIPS

The good soap

Choose a specific technical soap for the material of your garment, this avoids clogging the pores of the garment and restores its natural properties.

  • Merino: Granders Merino Wash
  • Down: Grangers Down Wash
  • Synthetic Insulated Garments and Shell: Grangers Performance Wash

Complete drying

Whether in the dryer or flat, we want to eliminate any moisture in the garment, especially when we store our clothes for the summer season.

Store like new

Putting a duvet and all other coats on a wide hanger with round ends and closing all the zippers to prevent the garment from deforming are a few easy tips to apply.
